Church Work Day
Saturdays are a busy day of the week. It is the day most people have off from work, and so it becomes the day to get some things done around the house. Well in the past couple years we have had a number of "Church Work Days" where the members of the congregation come together with tools in hand to make improvements to our little church. Last years projects included painting the sanctuary hanging ourprojector and electric screen as well as some finishing work. We painted the Gym/games room, installed a t-bar ceiling and fluorescent lights in the basement and numerous other small projects. It has been a great exercise in coming together to complete tasks to benefit the whole and build some relationships in the meantime. Plus you learn some things, like the fact that just because you are 20 or 30 years younger doesn't mean you can shovel gravel better. This work day was no different. We had Frank installing new brighter light fixtures. Terry hooked up a programable thermostat to hopefully save on some energy bills. and the Popowich family teamed up to cover the basement walls with a fresh coat of paint (badly needed after installing bright lights that show all the scuffs and dirt). This is not the end of our improvements. Not by a long ways. We will plan to do another work day near the end of next month. Stay tuned for more details.
