Prayer

Yesterday was my installation service and the church was privileged to have Mr. Cliff Pedersen here with us. Isn’t it amazing how God works and how God provides? Last year at this time, Cara and I were living in Fort Erie waiting for an opportunity like this to come up. Now, Cara is busy teaching piano lessons, Hailey is busy playing with all of her new friends and looking after our new puppy, and I am working at the church. The secret is in His time. We do not know the future, but we know who holds the future. We are so blessed to be a part of this church. To say the least, this church has been an answer to prayer.

The Praying Mind

The problem with twentieth century Christianity is that we have all the machinery, and it is grinding away – but without oil.
Every attribute of God is implied in the fact of Psalm 65:2 “ O thou that hearest prayer.”

1. God is a living God, not an idol made of stone, wood, or paper.
2. All knowing, omniscient – he hears the cry of millions of His people in all countries, all languages at the same time. He sees the faith, and sincerity, but also perceives the hypocrisy in the hearts of those who pray.
3. If God answers prayer, then He must have all power in Heaven and Earth. If God answers a prayer for rain, He must control the weather. He must control the sun, the insects, and the moisture. He who clothes the lilies of the field and notes the fall of the sparrow is the God who hears and answers prayer of those who diligently seek him. E. M. Bounds said, “praying, true praying, costs an outlay of serious attention and time, which flesh and blood do not relish.” Two Hills Fellowship Chapel has much to accomplish during these fall months. Awana, men’s and ladies fellowship and prayer meetings - how much would be accomplished with the oil of God’s Holy Spirit giving us the power to do God’s work, God’s way! How often we think we are too busy to pray or God doesn’t care, but let’s trust His word that “HE IS A REWARDER OF THEM THAT DILIGENTLY SEEK HIM” Heb. 11:6

The Christian hymn says it best:

“What a friend we have in Jesus,
All our sins and griefs to bear,
What a privilege to carry,
Everything to God in prayer.

In the near future, the church will be putting together a church calendar to try and give some clarification as to when the church events take place. But, for the time being,

Awana starts on September 23 at 6:30
We will be having a Sunday school for all ages starting September 20 at 10:00
Our mid-week Bible study and prayer time begins October 8 at 7:00
We will be having our first family fun night on October 11 at 6:00

We have been given the privilege and opportunity to worship our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ in a free country. As the Psalmist said, “Let us worship His name together”. I invite you to come and worship the Lamb of God. This Sunday morning we will be meeting for Sunday School at 10:00, followed by the morning service beginning at 11:00. Come worship our Saviour with us! Like never before, the words of the book of Hebrews should be on the minds and hearts of all of those who belong to Jesus Christ: “And let us consider one another in order to stir up love and good works, not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together; as in the manner of some, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see that Day approaching.” Hebrews 10:24, 25.

Pastor Paul

May God richly bless your life as you continue to serve and remain faithful to Him!
