Pastoral Candidate Scheduled to come!!!

It is with great joy and anticipation that I announce this news.  Our church has been without the stability of a Pastor for a little over 7 months. It has been a long process of sifting through resumes and making contacts. We have been very encouraged by the responses we have been getting. For the past month or so the church board has been pursuing one particular candidate. His name is Paul Mehlenbacher. Paul is a young man from Ontario. He is married for 5 years to his wife Cara. They have a beautiful daughter Haley, who is 2 yrs. old. Paul responded to our advertisement at www.ministryemployment.ca and we were instantly drawn to his love for scripture and to his doctrinal convictions. Further investigation brought forth more encouraging signs of compatibility. Due to the distance to travel to come and candidate our board requested that Paul send a message on video. After viewing the message I can tell you that this is a young man who is passionate about the Word of God. His message was loaded with scripture references and historical information about the times of Christ. My hat goes off to him because I can only imagine it must be a real challenge to preach a message to a video camera, with no feedback, as if it were a church full of people. Paul and his wife Cara will be joining us for the week-end of April 17-19. We will have Paul bring the message on Sunday morning. We will have our monthly Potluck Supper and Music Night Sunday evening (supper at 6 music at 7). There should be lots of time to visit and get to know the couple a little better. They will be billeted at the Loewens home for the week-end but there will be opportunity for church members to host the Mehlenbacher's in their homes for some meals during the week-end. Early Monday morning the Mehlenbacher's will be flying home to reunite with their Daughter. We will be having a special membership meeting Tuesday evening at the church at 7 PM to finalize the candidating process with a membership vote. The church board has worked long and hard to bring this upcoming week-end to reality. Paul and Cara Mehlenbacher have also worked very diligently to meet all the requirements of both the CSSM and our local board. We continue to pray that God would reveal His will for our church. We hope you will purpose to join us for all of the planned activities on Sunday April 19th. Come meet Paul and Cara and allow them the opportunity to meet you. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to call Terry at 780-657-3339. Or e-mail at terry_boettcher@hotmail.com

In His Service,
Terry Boettcher
Board Chairperson
