Yesterday, our studies took us the 22nd Chapter of Luke as we took time to celebrate the Lord’s Table. For many Christians, communion is a sleepy hour in which crackers are eaten, juice is drunk, but the soul never stirs. Then there are those who think that the Lord’s Supper is a memorial to something done back in the times of Jesus but now holds no significant meaning.
When you read Luke 22:14-22, there is an incredible truth that is often overlooked and yet it really forces us to change our perspective when we gather around the Lord’s Supper: Jesus is behind it all! This is a meal that Jesus has with you! Too many people think that the Lord’s Supper is a performance, or a time when you are on stage and He is watching or a religious ceremony in which we do the work and He does the watching. When you take the time to read about the Last Supper, you realize that Jesus Christ prayed over the meal making Him the Host and the Disciples the guests. Christ is in charge - He is the One behind it all and He still is. It is His table that we come before, it is a holy invitation, a sacred time for believers, a time for us to leave behind the chores of life and enter into His splendour.
Next time you come before His table, make yourself aware that;
The Lord’s Supper is a time to Remember!
His body that was broken for you and His blood that was shed for you…
The Lord’s Supper is a time to Receive!
Jesus, as the host of the Supper took the cup, gave thanks, took the bread, gave thanks, broke the bread and gave them the cup! The One in charge of History is the One doing the serving. He’s the host and you are the guest when you come to His table.
The Lord’s Supper is a time to Rehearse!
What thrills my soul is that one day, as all believers gather around His table He will be the One serving you!
Faith Is The Victory!
Hebrews 11:6 says, “But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.”
Faith is the victory, faith is the victory, faith is the victory that overcomes the world. We all struggle with day to day decisions and things that seem to bog us down from time to time, but what a confidence we can have in knowing that there are no surprises to God. The same God that framed the worlds by the word of God and by him all things consist is not surprised by the swine flu or any happenings around the world. Paul said - I am in the train of a conqueror and it doesn’t matter what happens, I am led in triumph.
George Muller, the man of faith and prayer, founder of the orphanage in Bristol, England said my faith is the same faith that all of God’s children have had. It is the same faith Simon Peter had, and all Christians may obtain like faith. My faith is their faith, though there may be more of it because my faith has been more developed by exercise than their’s. How important it is to know the Word of God that we may increase our faith. Faith must then be tried before the reality of faith is actual. “We know that all things work together for good,” no matter what happens, God’s providence brings the ideal faith into actual reality. God wants the ideal faith made real in his children. Faith is a principal that always puts Jesus first – it may look mad, but I am going to venture on Thy Word.

We have been given the privilege and opportunity to worship our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ in a free country. As the Psalmist said, “Let us worship His name together”. I invite you to come and worship the Lamb of God. This Sunday morning we will be meeting for Sunday School at 10:00, followed by the morning service beginning at 11:00. Come worship our Savior with us! Like never before, the words of the book of Hebrews should be on the minds and hearts of all of those who belong to Jesus Christ: “And let us consider one another in order to stir up love and good works, not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together; as in the manner of some, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see that Day approaching.” Hebrews 10:24, 25.
Pastor Paul
May God richly bless your life as you continue to serve and remain faithful to Him!
