Well it has taken us since June to do it but we’re finished. We were challenged to see life from a new perspective and convicted to see life through the eyes of Jesus and not through our own. Our study in the book of Philippians has come to an end! I believe that one of the missing ingredients in the lives of so many believers is joy. Paul mentions Christ fifty times in the Book of Philippians and joy is mentioned sixteen times. The reason is simple: apart from a personal walk with Jesus Christ, you will not experience true and lasting joy in your life. My question for you this morning is, “Are you living a life that is overflowing with joy?”
What’s in your hands?
Have you ever realized how many believers are occupied with chasing the wind? Countless believers are eating the garbage of this sinful and corrupt world when they could be eating at the banquet table that their Heavenly Father has prepared and set before them. If you ever wanted to read about a life that was focused on “chasing the wind” only to discover that the end is futile, turn to the book of Ecclesiastes and read about the “Wisest Fool.” Solomon’s journey for purpose and meaning in life lead him to stab at human wisdom (2:14-16), human effort (2:18-23), human achievement (2:26) human life (3:18-22) human rivalry (4:$), human selfish sacrifice (4:7-8), human power (4:16), Human greed (5:10), human accumulation (6:1-12) and human religion (8:10-14). After chasing all of these things he comes to the conclusion that, apart from God, everything is vanity. In his own words he says, “I have seen all the works that are done under the sun; and indeed, all is vanity and grasping at the wind.” He is simply saying this, like the wind, much of what is desirable in life cannot be held in one’s hands. Friends, stop chasing the wind and start focusing on worship.

We have been given the privilege and opportunity to worship our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ in a free country. As the Psalmist said, “Let us worship His name together”. I invite you to come and worship the Lamb of God. Your attendance is important to us. This Sunday morning we will be meeting for Sunday School at 10:00, followed by the morning service beginning at 11:00. Come worship our Savior with us! Like never before, the words of the book of Hebrews should be on the minds and hearts of all of those who belong to Jesus Christ: “And let us consider one another in order to stir up love and good works, not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together; as in the manner of some, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see that Day approaching.” Hebrews 10:24, 25.
Pastor Paul
May God richly bless your life as you continue to serve and remain faithful to Him!
